Welcome to Tidelands Health! This page will guide you through benefit decisions you need to make as a new hire and help you learn about all the benefits available to you as a Tidelands Health team member.

You have 30 days from your date of hire or the date you become eligible for benefits to enroll yourself and your eligible dependents in certain benefits. Learn about benefit eligibility.

Benefits to Enroll in within 30 Days from Hire Date
If eligible, you can enroll in the following benefits within 30 days from your hire date or the date you become benefits-eligible:
- Medical
- Pharmacy (included with your medical plan)
- Dental
- Vision
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Income Protection Benefits (Supplemental Life insurance and AD&D)
- Voluntary Benefits (Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Group Accident and Individual Whole Life)
- 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
Benefits With No Election Required
Coverage for Basic Life and AD&D and Short- and Long-Term Disability begins automatically after 90 days of employment. The Employee Assistance Program and YouCare Wellbeing Program are available upon hire. In addition, you begin to accrue Paid Time Off.
When Coverage Begins
Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days from your date of hire, with a few exceptions:
- You are eligible to enroll in the 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan on your first day of employment. If you don’t actively enroll within 30 days of your hire date, you will be automatically enrolled, with your money invested in a Target Date Fund. If you enroll in Supplemental Life and AD&D, coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days from your date of hire.
- If you enroll in Pet Insurance, coverage is effective upon notification of your enrollment from Nationwide.
Complete Your YouCare Wellbeing Activities Beginning October 1
You can begin completing your wellbeing program activities on October 1. When you do, you earn contributions toward your HRA or Lifestyle Spending Account, funded by Tidelands Health!
