Welcome to Tidelands Health! This page will guide you through benefit decisions you need to make as a new hire and help you learn about all the benefits available to you as a Tidelands Health team member.

Don’t Miss Your Chance to Enroll!

You have 30 days from your date of hire or the date you become eligible for benefits to enroll yourself and your eligible dependents in certain benefits. Learn about benefit eligibility.

When you’re ready to enroll, go to Workday.

Be Prepared Before Enrolling

You will need to have all beneficiary information, including phone number and mailing address, for Basic Life and AD&D as well as any Supplemental Life Insurance you may elect for yourself.
If you are covering dependents (spouse and/or child(ren)) under any Tidelands benefits plan, you’ll need to provide the date of birth and a Social Security number. Please enter dependent names as they appear on their Social Security Card (the middle initial can be entered in lieu of the full middle name).

Benefits to Enroll in within 30 Days from Hire Date

Please see the Open Enrollment page for changes that impact your benefits effective October 1, 2025. If eligible, you can enroll in the following benefits within 30 days from your hire date or the date you become benefits-eligible:

Medical
Pharmacy (included with your medical plan)
Dental
Vision
Flexible Spending Accounts
Income Protection Benefits (Supplemental Life insurance and AD&D)
Voluntary Benefits (Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Group Accident and Individual Whole Life)
403(b) Retirement Savings Plan (See the “Register for Online Access to Retirement Account” link in the Resources sidebar)

Benefits With No Election Required

Coverage for Basic Life and AD&D and Short- and Long-Term Disability begins automatically after 90 days of employment. The Employee Assistance Program and YouCare Wellbeing Program are available upon hire. In addition, you begin to accrue Paid Time Off.

When Coverage Begins

Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days from your date of hire, with a few exceptions:

You are eligible to enroll in the 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan on your first day of employment. If you don’t actively enroll within 30 days of your hire date, you will be automatically enrolled, with your money invested in a Target Date Fund. If you enroll in Supplemental Life and AD&D, coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days from your date of hire.
If you enroll in Pet Insurance, coverage is effective upon notification of your enrollment from Nationwide.

Complete Your YouCare Questionnaire by July 31

To participate in YouCare to earn incentive points you must complete your online lifestyle questionnaire by July 31. This allows any activities you complete throughout the benefit plan year to be assigned activity points. These points translate into dollars toward your HRA or Lifestyle Spending Account, funded by Tidelands Health!

How to Enroll:

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You’ve looked at your benefit options, made your decisions, and are ready to enroll. Now comes the easy part. For most of your benefits, you’ll enroll by logging on to Workday. If you are adding dependents, please have ready required dependent verification documents.

Keep in mind that your 403(b) retirement plan benefits require action through your account at Lincoln Financial, and pet insurance is a separate enrollment with Nationwide.
